Would have been among my own initial suggestions with the exception I myself would not have wanted to give advice that would possible render his Conky as FUBAR.

AH! HAH! Once again Yug has come to the rescue!! I do agree, 'ephus, ol bud,that giving WRONG info can do more harm than good,'specially if one is relatively "new" to Linux

Hi guys

I playing with this .conky for quite while now(taken a backup of original), my problem is:

1 - I copied the .conkyrc code from this guys site (looks impressive) here , it works fine when i tried on my ubuntu machine, bt on pinguy i replaced it with the existing, now i have most of things working except the network part. for which we need "nmap.pl" script file from here file
i extracted and moved the file to home but it does not show up in the screenlet. what could be wrong here?

2 - also got a file for "clock.lua" which again worked fine for ubuntu but when i included that file in /home it does not show up anywhere. something is missing here, I cant seem to figure out what??

3 - i have a quad core i72630QM CPU with 4 physical cores but the widget shows only 3 CPS stats excluding the overall CPU usage. WHy??

Hi Razedafear!! ok, I will assume you already made a copy of the .conkyrc file.
What you could do is make a copy of this other guy's file, have a look at it and compare it with you own .conky file and make the appropriate adjustments in a new file which you can then use to patch/replace the file in Conky. That migh work.
Bear in mind I am almost PHOBIC about touching code, but I had to adjust my Conky to fit my netbook screen. I had quite a bit of help and support from here on the forum.

Try placing the clock.lua in ~/.conky not in your /home (ctrL H in your /home to view hidden folders and files)

thanks a ton, it worked !! but one thing is weird though, the network activity does not show up for wifi (says not connected to a network) but only when i connect through wired connection . Any fix for that ??
