Ok, I finnally got around to install PinguyOS, on my system, I chosed the branded version, because it is the most advanced. But:

1 - When installing, I tried to set the security settings to enable the need of password to access my home folder, that breaks the install, had to start over.

2 - When installing, tried to set the language to Portuguese, that breaks the install, had to start over.

3 - I have 3 HDD on my PC, internal ones, with 4 more external, I have no idea why, but, my system drive, the one I boot from, is a Raptor, 160 GB, that only has the OS, shows in Linux as SDC, so it is the 3rd drive, and that's where I installed PinguyOS, but, when writing the GRUB, it was writen on SDA, by default, had to change the boot order to be able to boot the OS, This slows down my system.

4 - After making a few changes on my first install, I decided to reboot, to make some new settings available, like language, and Samba settings. I got a Kernel Panic, had to re-install, fortunately I still had the backup, although a day old. I have no idea why.

So far, that's it...

I have a reason/solution for one of your three issues. Grub always installs to /dev/sda unless told otherwise. There is a step in the installer where you can change the target device for installing the boot loader.

Thanks Jeff91, I suppose it's in the Advanced tab at the end of the install, but, as a total n00b in Linux, I never press anything marked as advanced .

But, I'll keep it in mind in case I need to re-install. Hopefully I'll be able to make it work.
