Ping-Eee OS, Netbook Edition of Pinguy OS

Image

This was built and compiled using the ASUS Eee Netbook and designed from the ground up to run on netbooks. This has more installed then the mini but less then the desktop version. Size of iso is 1.38GB and only comes in a 32-Bit version.

Best way to install this is to use UNetbootin.

Ping-Eee comes pre-installed with Jupiter and Rhythmbox has been replaced with Clementine. A few apps that come in the full version have been removed like gnome-do and Glipper. This was because they did use a lot of memory. Vineyard had to be removed also because of memory usage.

Something that came out after this was released was zramswap. To get the best out of Ping-Eee is to install zramswap. Follow this guide to install:

RE: Ping-Eee OS Coming Soon!

Great Smile On Juli 13th my sister will give me her Eee to take home with me and install some linux on it. I would love to install a little Ping-Eee.

I don't suppose there are any details yet, like size of install? Will it be a Ping-Eee mini, or will it come with all the bells and whistles?

Thanks for all your hard work.

RE: Ping-Eee OS Coming Soon!

Hi,
I'm newcomer on PINGUYOS and previously was using MEEGO on an old EEEPC 901 12GB.

I live very much your distro and tried to install standard PINGUYOS but didn't met requirements due to EEEPC disk size :
this old EEEPC 901 has 1 main 4GB SSD disk and a secondary 8GB SSD disk.

Will it be possible to install PING-EEE OS on one of my SSDs Shy?
