On this day one year ago the first version of Pinguy OS was released. At the time it had no website. It all started out as a post on Ubuntu Forums.

Then when I was getting good feedback from there I posted it onto reddit where people helped seed it and host it so other users could download it.

Once that happened I started to get reviews. Jeff was one of the first.

He was the one that started Pinguy E17 that ended up becoming Bodhi Linux

Then I got hold of Andrew from Webupd8 and asked him if he wouldn't mind doing a review.

In one year you become a Linux sensation. In one year, and much, much work, this OS you made for friends and family, is a success by any way you want to measure it. In one year, many were the unbelievers that mustered enough curiosity to try it and liked it. The word is still spreading, many more will come and enjoy your work.

For us, here, in this great community we were able to aggregate around this OS, you are a Hero. With this OS, you made possible to many of us the difficult task of enjoying Linux and all it has to offer. Sure, many already used Linux, most of them with problems and assorted difficulties, now they can enjoy it because of your work.

That is YOUR merit. That is YOUR triumph.

Happy birthday Pinguy!!

I went to the computer markets yesterday and got a 60 Gig SSD and 1000 Gig HDD both are SATA 3. They will replace a 1000 Gig SATA 2 drive.

So a new install of Pinguy will be done on it's birthday, sweet.
