My favorite part thus far of the whole article was the comment/question where "Gabe Newell trashes Windows 8".
But hey, that's just me.

Hi Guys, I got to say, IF, and I mean IF, this is really on the way then its going to be an exciting time to be a Linux user. "Steam on Linux"... to use a vulgar Americanism...HELL YEAH!!!!!! And having Left4Dead2???? WOAH!! If you have NOT played this (outside of an Xbox360), then you are in for a TREAT!!!!!

Nah, it's all about TF2.

:)LoL, TF2!! TF2!!...........nAAAAH!!! L4D yAY!!!!!!!! 'Cides TF2 part of the ol' Counterstrike era innit ( getting "down" with the lingo ) Having said that , there is news of a Counterstrike REVAMP/REBOOT in the works, and THAT will be available on STEAM

Hi 'ephus. Y'know, I resisted EVER getting a computer, for a long while. I was a console gamer,1st on the N64, then the Playstation,(both machines I got from my younger brother, when he "upgraded" to a 'puter) The 1st machine I ever baught was a Sega Dreamcast,(and my first taste of the WWW was via that machine) followed by a PS2. What moved me to buy my 1st PC (an Advent Tower MODEL,from PC WORLD) was games, and downloadable add-ons I should state NOT MULTI-PAYER games, just games I liked, Medal of Honour, Alien v Predator, the Thing, yada,yada, and of course, surfing the Web ( pre Web 2.0) which was an utter revelation to me. I still stuck with consoles though, for my main gaming fix (because PC gaming was going multi-player a lot, and the single player experience was shrinking) so I got the GameCube, the Xbox, then the Wii and the PS3 & Xbox360. The irony of all this was that the Console was going the route of the PC.........Multi-Player crap for the most part, with a few gems (L4D,Halo,etc) among the mounds of rubbish.
I STILL prefer the Console over the PC, for gaming, AND I STILL prefer the single player experience (Heavy Rain, God of War, GTA, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock etc) purely on cost grounds. You need DEEP pockets to be a PC Gamer, (UPGRADES to your rig,etc)

P.s, I learned to "self-build" a PC from that first one I got "off the shelf" by installing any hardware upgrades myself.The rest is history.
I do not currently OWN a self build, just two lappies, one a Notebook, one a Netbook.
