I am trying to install Pinguyos.

I get to the following screen then when I select install the screen flickers and a get a grey screen and it just hangs

The same thing happens when I select 'boot the live system'.



Any help will be appreciated

Are you installing on virtualbox??

Hi,

try the second option in the list (xforcevesa), it may have something to do with your graphics card not having drivers at that stage!!.

No, I have win xp and want to install "over it" (replace XP with Pinguyos).

Same thing, I get a grey screen and it hangs.
Any other alternatives?

How did you get the iso? Torrent or direct download? If direct download, please check the md5 hash value, as the iso may be corrupted.

Hi,

did you burn the disk at the slowest speed, if not, re-burn it using the lowest speed setting!!. (This is assuming you aer trying a disk install!!)

Hi Dre,

When you highlight "install - start the installer directly" from the menu, press the Tab key and add nomodeset at the end of the line and press enter, to continue the install.





I have found some units will install this way, if you're having problems installing the conventional way.
