Oh Cricket Cooperation... Why you won't write some simple flipping drivers for your modem on Linux like most other companies is beyond me...

What model USB modem do you have and what Pinguy bitage and version?

I hope this makes it to you. I am new and after reading your answer I believe I will deal with the books and not post any mor what maus have seemed like a dumb question. So sorry I bothered.

Hi Art, welcome to the forums.

Your question isn't dumb at all. I think what Jeff91 was trying to say is that typically Cricket doesn't have good drivers for Linux.

Can you let us know what modem and Pinguy version (including 32 or 64 bit) you are using?

Jeff after rereading your post I gather you were not telling me to write drivers.
it is an "A600" program is Pinguy 10.04.1.2 32bit
Cricket program is installed but just get the msg "No Device" when I hit the connect button.

Hope this info helps you more than it did for me.
